Policies

Welcome to the Mount Kisco Public Library! All members of the community are encouraged to enjoy the Library and its facilities, resources, and programs. The Library strives to provide a safe, enjoyable, and positive experience for our patrons. The following policies have been created in order to to provide equal access for all, promote a love of reading and a sense of wonder and discovery amongst our patrons.


Circulation

Patrons are eligible to receive a library card if they work, go to school, own property, or live in the Town/Village of Mount Kisco. A photo ID with the Mount Kisco address is required to obtain a library card. Children ages 5 and up are eligible to receive a library card with a parent or legal guardian signature on the application and proof of the parent or legal guardian’s address. Code of Conduct

In order to provide a safe, enjoyable, and positive experience for our patrons, the Library has adopted the Code of Conduct Policy. Library staff and security personnel are authorized to ask patrons to ask patrons to cease their violations at once. Please click here to access our Code of Conduct Policy. Collection Development Policy

The authority and responsibility for the selection of library materials rests ultimately with the Library Director. By the Director’s delegation and supervision, the Head of Adult Services or Head of Youth Services also has responsibility for the selection of materials. To read the Collection Development Policy, click here. Internet and Computer Use Policy

Mount Kisco Public Library provides access to internet and computer resources equally to all Library patrons. The Library provides wireless internet access (WiFi) for patrons to use with their own personal devices. WiFi access provided by the Library is unsecured. Museum Pass Policy

Privacy and Confidentiality of Library Records Policy

The Mount Kisco Public Library is committed to protecting the privacy of our staff and patrons. The Library does not collect personal information when visiting the Library website, the Weschester Library System (WLS) website, or when registering for a program or library card. Security Camera and Video Surveillance Policy

Unattended Children

The Mount Kisco Public Library welcomes children to use its facilities, resources, and services. All children must follow the Code of Conduct Policy and are expected to use the Library in a manner that does not interfere with its purpose or other patrons’ use of the Library.
